FAQs for Swim Cow Instructors

You decide. You let us know the cities or zipcodes you would like to work in, and we will begin finding swimmers in your area.

While Swim Cow does not require the use of any equipment, we do offer a discount on our retail portal if you are interested in top-quality equipment. Instructors can also source equipment on their own if they prefer

Swim Cow is a current swim instructor’s connection to more, great customers. As a contractor, if you require additional training, we would advise you join a class or program to gain some experience before becoming a Swim Cow Instructor. We do not offer instructor training or certification.

This is your business, and these are your lessons. You include what you think is important, based on your customer’s needs. We do advise that you come prepared to each class with a lesson plan, so you know your goals and can manage your time well.

Nothing! You are responsible for up-front costs, just like any startup business. This includes equipment you want to use, and insurance, which is required (we have insurance available to purchase at an affordable cost to you, if you do not already have insurance).

Some of that depends on you! It will depend on how many hours you are available to work, how far you are willing to travel, and the times you set aside. We will stay within your requests, but please note, that to grow your business, you may find that flexibility is key. We suggest starting with areas and times that are most comfortable for you. We will let you know if there is more opportunity outside those times/hours, so you can make a good decision regarding your schedule and hours.

We will not require you to take any jobs outside of your travel radius. If it becomes a persistent issue, we will assess our customer needs and consider this option.

Because we are entering their homes, we cannot require the homeowners to wear masks. If this is of concern to you, we encourage you to put your requests on your profile. There, customers will be able to see your personal requirements, and can agree to have you as a swim instructor based on your rules. Extra precautions may even be a selling point to many customers!

This is your business. We ask that you represent Swim Cow and yourself with professionalism. We highly encourage a one-piece bathing suit and a rash guard for all instructors.

The only way you would be removed from a job would be at the request of the customer. If the customer needed to change times or days, we would notify you first, to give you the chance to move with them, before offering the job to another instructor.

Swim Cow is hiring you as a professional with your own business. We do not have a non compete agreement. However, please check with any other company you hope to work for, as they may have a non compete.
